How AI Is Starting to Catch Repeat Warranty Claims Before They Become a Trend

RV manufacturers have steadily improved warranty processes over the years, but it’s still a challenge to uncover recurring issues before they become larger, more expensive problems.

Picture a familiar scenario: a unit comes back for the same repair twice. A processor works through claims one at a time. They rarely have an easy way to check whether this VIN or this repair code has shown up before. Multiply that across a full queue of open claims, and catching the patterns that would actually save money stay buried in the data.

This is changing. AI for RV manufacturing is moving out of the “interesting idea” category and into daily use. It’s happening through small, practical steps: flagging anomalies in warranty and quality data, summarizing scheduling bottlenecks, and surfacing patterns in claims that would otherwise take a manager hours to find by hand.

The point is not to replace the people doing this work. The point is to give them a head start on the parts of the job that come down to pattern recognition and double-checking.

This shift is a big enough deal that RVBusiness sat down with our team at Solution Source to talk about it directly. The result was a webinar titled, “How Does AI Really Work for the RV Industry?” The goal was to move past the buzzwords and show, in a live demo, what AI looks like when it runs against an RV manufacturer’s own data.

A key example from that session involved warranty claims. We started by asking a simple question in plain language:

Show us open warranty claims where a unit already had a claim for the same repair before.

Within moments, the AI tool had pulled the matching claims, identified the units and op codes that kept reappearing, and organized the results by priority.

Here’s the part that matters most for anyone running warranty operations. The tool could do much more than just delivering an answer. It flagged the claims directly inside the ERP system. A warranty processor who has never used an AI chatbot could view a list of claims and immediately see which ones are marked for review, with a plain-language note explaining why. No new login. No new workflow to learn. The intelligence shows up right where the work already happens.

The session also walks through:

  • How this AI-to-ERP connection was built
  • How a one-time question turns into something that runs on a set schedule
  • How the whole setup stays narrowly scoped, so it only touches the exact data you choose to give it access to

For anyone weighing whether this is worth exploring at their own company, that part is worth the watch.

The full session, including the live demo, the security strategy, and a Q&A with other RV manufacturers, is available on demand:
